Okay, I'll ask, but just this one time.

What is the best way to go about ordering prescription drugs online from Canada?

I'll let you know right off the bat, I am not asking for me. I am asking for my mom.

My mom requires a pretty steep prescription drug--whose name has escaped me at the moment--and has been advised by her doctor to order it from Canada (where I currently live because my husband is an awesome Canadian). Well, the website he originally recommended appears to be out of service and she has asked me where would be reputable to order them from. My parents are not exactly the most web-savvy so can anyone recommend a solution here? What website would be most likely to achieve the results she wants and without her worrying about whether or not they will phish her credit card number?

Hive Mind, I appreciate any help you have here. (And yes, I have already told her to inform her physician that the website he gave her no longer and to ask him for another site.)

I was in the same boat as your mom several years ago and used Planet Drugs Direct. At that time (maybe 2001?) I thought they were based out of New Zealand, but I just logged into my account on the website and it's definitely the same company. I never had any trouble with them and would definitely order from them again if the need arose.

There also appears to be some sort of referral credit thing, so if you decide to use Planet Drugs Direct and want to shoot me a message with your e-mail, you'll get $25 off your first order.

Any particular reason you don't just have it processed at your own regular pharmacy and send it to her? I did some research on the issue recently and there's a fair amount of hand-wringing about drug quality and authenticity. How much of that is industry FUD and how much is truth I don't know, but it makes me a little twitchy about using a place that doesn't have a pretty rock-solid recommendation.

Response by poster: Well, I don't have a regular pharmacy and I don't know if they would accept a prescription that is not in my name.

It's been several years, but I used canadadrugs.com and had nothing but good experiences.

Seconding canadadrugs.com. I've used them for a few years (as recently as last June) and have had no problems with them.

I'm in Canada and I have submitted prescriptions not in my name (and not with my last name either) for my extended family. It has never been an issue for me. I have never had to show ID to drop off/pick up prescriptions either, so how would they know the prescription isn't for you since you don't go to the pharmacy anyway?

I have used Health One and Granville with no problems. I found them on this Nevada-affiliated page. Typically the Dr. needs to write an Rx for a 90-day supply with several refills in order for her to get the best deal. Good luck!
