Help me find a new pair of the best nail scissors ever.

I lost the best nail scissors ever. Problem: I don't remember exactly where they came from, standard drug store replacements suck.

The best nail scissors ever came in small nail kit over ten years ago (I lost everything else and the box a long time ago). They looked like very normal nail scissors (example image from image search--they looked just like this!). The difference is that they were exceptionally solid. They were noticeably heavier than drug store nail scissors of the same size. The hinge wasn't wobbly. They cleanly cut nails, and also through things like plastic packaging on electronic gadgets. The only marking was "STAINLESS". They held up to a ton of abuse and were like new when lost.

Do you have a similar pair? Where did you get them? The internet is full of scissors that look the same, but obviously that's no guarantee of awesomeness.

I have a similar pair that I also love and I know where you're coming from with the hate on drug-store imitations. I could have sworn mine was from Brookstone, but looking at their website I can't be certain. They are part of a small kit so I will double-check for markings on the other items in there.

You could always buy a pair from Tweezerman- they do free sharpening as well as repair/replacement for a small fee. Quality products.

They sound a lot like the scissors that come in various designer-labelled manicure kits – I have the one branded by Nautica and the scissors are indeed heavier than those by Revlon, Tweezerman, etc. They also look just like those in the link and work pretty well (although the clippers included don't even begin to compare to Seki Edge in quality).

Mine are indeed from Brookstone. They have curved blades, a satin finish, and say "stainless steel" on one side. The other side says "Brookstone" one one arm and "Sollingen • GERMANY" on the other. Sollingen has a very stylized 'g'. Good luck! The closest I have found in some searching are on zamberg.com.

Response by poster: Thanks, everyone! We have a Brookstone near us so I'm going to head over there and see if I can handle a pair, depending on how those work out I'll start looking at the others. (I really need to get on this--the toenail situation is getting critical.)
