Possible to preorder multiple iPhones?

I preordered through best buy. My gf isn't eligible until later this year, but is it possible to preorder another phone through the Apple Store and just activate it with her number when it arrives?

Right now, the apple store is letting me preorder if I go through the steps. Just worried about activation, etc

When you preorder through the Apple Store whose phone number will you use? Do you want to buy an unlocked phone, or get a discounted phone by committing to a plan? Do you want to active it with your girlfriend's number before your girlfriend is eligible for a new phone? Do you want to order from Apple as if you're upgrading your own phone --- essentially double dipping on the upgrade you're eligible for?

If you can clarify what you're hoping to do you'll get better answers.

Response by poster: I preordered through best buy for a 32GB for myself. My gf only wants a 16GB so I'd do that through the apple store. The main goal is to get two new iPhone 4S without paying $600 for a phone.

We both currently have iPhones so it'd be double dipping I guess?

If she's not eligible for an upgrade then you're not likely going to find a way to get hers at a promotional rate.

You could pay her ETF and resign. Probably would be less than the full off contract iPhone price.

I don't think that's really possible (ordering a subsidized iPhone when you're not eligible to order a subsidized iPhone), but if you figure out a way, please post it here. I'd be in for several.

Not sure why you feel the need to preorder. Do you think they won't be available when she's eligible to re-up?
