Can I use my Iphone 3G contract simcard in an iphone 4?
I have an 02 unlmited contract, UK, £20 a month, but it's out of contract. I would like to know if it's possible to buy an unlocked (or otherwise) Iphone 4 or 4S and transfer the sim across and still retain the contract services and data allowence

the 3G and 4 have different sized sim cards, so you would need to go to a store to get a new sim
Or just cut your existing SIM down to size.

iPhone 4S announced today. Available in the US on 12 October with pre-orders starting on 7 October.
I know someone who cut their sim to size and it works perfectly.

Yes, it's perfectly possible to do this with your O2 SIM. Worth noting that unless you change your contract, you won't have visual voicemail.
As others have noted, you need to cut it down to size. I would recommend a SIM cutter (Amazon UK search link) as, for just over a fiver, it guarantees you'll get it cut correctly. Some of them also come with SIM trays so you can turn it back into a full size SIM later on if you want.
