Emic views of DC contributing to individual felicity

I will be in D.C. over the Columbus Day Weekend (Oct 7-10), recommend some things for me to do.
This is far, far, far from my first visit to D.C. (it's the city where I was born and raised, and I've been back a couple bajillion times). I have innumerable pictures of every monument on the Lawn from every angle, could probably navigate the Smithsonian blind-folded, and already have strong opinions on the Chinese food available around 6th and H (generally terrible). So what have I missed? I'm looking for the insider scoop on cool spots around town that are excellent places to grab a bite (bonus points for identifying the ever-elusive awesome Ethiopian spot), grab a drink, or simply pass the time. DC-dwellers, grant me the boon of your wisdom!

Taste of DC is the same weekend! Also, the tasting menu at the recently opened Graffiato is amazing and oh-so-worth it. Try to find 3+ friends to go with you if you do the tasting menu.

Relevance may vary depending on how long it is since your last visit, but the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial opened recently, and is great! (Walk towards Independence from the Lincoln Memorial, it's on the Tidal Basin.)

For amazing Chinese food go to "Great Wall" on 14th and P street, and order off the ma la menu.

Have you been to H St NE since the major renovations? If not, check it out! As jacob mentioned, Ethiopic is fantastic, and you could also try Granville Moore's for some good Belgian food and beers, or Biergarten Haus for a good German brewpub. To continue on the beer theme, head over to Logan Circle and visit ChurchKey/Birch and Barley, who has a ton of good craft beers on tap. If you don't mind crossing the river into Northern Virginia, you could hit up El Pollo Rico or Ray's Hell Burger for awesome grub at good prices, or hit up Lyon Hall if you want something a little fancier.
It's been around for several years, and I haven't been myself, but I've heard mostly good things about The International Spy Museum. If you have some free time to head out of town for a little bit, maybe check out the Udvar-Hazy Center for cool stuff the regular Air & Space Museum doesn't have. I'd also recommend the National Building Museum, as they have some nice revolving exhibits, including one about scale models of famous buildings with Legos.

Zombieflanders, are you stalking me? The last time I was in DC a friend took me to the National Building Museum, and she's promised a stop in at ChurchKey this time around. So good suggestions all around!
