What video camera(s) would you recommend?

I'd like to buy a video camera, but I don't know anything about them.
If you click on my profile, the "website" link leads to an example of the sort of thing I'd like to do more of (i.e. nothing terribly complicated at all). My only real criteria are that the camera must be compatible with MacBook/iMovie/OSX and that it can be placed on a tripod. Good in low-light conditions and not terribly expensive would be nice, too.

I have used a Sanyo Xacti pistol-grip model - similar to the one linked, not sure if it's exactly the same. It's inexpensive, shoots mp4s, has a tripod mounting space. It's VERY small and portable. It's... ok in low light, not great.

I have a Kodak Zi8 which I love. Super easy to use and take places. I use it for still photos & video and have no complaints about the quality. You I have a small little pocket tripod I use with it. Its OK in low light, not super fantastic, but I can film indoors at night using just the room lights and it looks fine, not outdoors on a sunny day fine, but perfectly good for what I want to do. The movies play in Quicktime no worries but I don't know about the editing software as I just use the Windows movie maker, because I'm just making home movies for my family & I to watch.
