To Have and to Hold

How much can you actually fit inside a Brooks "Challenge" Tool Bag?

I'm thinking of picking up a small saddle bag for my Raleigh which I recently took out of storage. The Brooks Challenge tool bag looks great but I'm reading conflicting reports on how much it can actually hold. My load is relatively light, consisting of only a spare tube, 6" adjustable wrench, screwdriver, and tire levers. Is this too much gear for the bag? Some reviewers on Amazon state that it can't even hold a spare tube while others disagree.

Well, it's 7"w x 3"h x 2"d, so I think you're fine but you can make a box that size from a shoebox or something to estimate before you buy. Maybe a little tight, but re-rolling the tube would probably help with that. Whether it can hold a spare tube depends on the tube.

I was looking at the dimensions and just going by that it should fit all my gear but I think there's a possibility that the thickness of the leather might be leaving a lot less interior space for storage.

I don't see how it could possibly not hold a spare tube - you may have to take it out of the box and unwrap it one turn to make the tube longer and thinner?

It's really beautiful fwiw.

This comment is bizarre:

Q > Does the bag have enough space to hold a spare tube?

A > Not really. I use a Challenge Tool Bag to hold my spare tube.

Yeah I saw that too and that's why I'm confused.
