Who is that sound?

Artist (and cd) identification please...
- Early 90's artist
- Male singer-songwriter similar to Todd Snider
- Had a song on this disc mentioning getting a case of 'Buckhorn Beer'
- Last song on the record ends with him saying 'Thanks for buying my record!'
- Austin/Texas artist?
Any ideas?
I've got a hankering for this disc.
Thanks!

Here's a 1996 sfgate.com story referencing an album by Pete Droge named "Find a Door" that ends like that (the reference is on page 3).
The song you're thinking of might be Brakeman.
Disclaimer: I have no idea who Pete Droge is.

Also, my apologies to the Puget Sound area of Washington. I didn't mean to move one of your artists to the Southwest.
