Help me track down this band from 2004

I saw a performance back in 2003 or 2004 in a (now-defunct) art space in Columbus, OH named the BLD, and I want to track down information about the band but can't seem to find anything. Inside find a big braindump of my various memories of them so you can help me figure this out...
Like I said, this was probably the summer of 2003 or 2004 -- the band was 5 or 6 people, but what left the biggest impression on me was that one of the guys had built a big spinning sequencer wheel. It had a series of holes at regular intervals & he put pegs in those holes to trigger various items strewn about the room to create beats. There was a typewriter (which was forever typing 'k'), a drumstick clamped to a ceiling beam tapping away, a bass drum, etc. Then the rest of the band (I seem to recall a keyboard, a saxophone maybe?) would just improv along with it. Kinda weird stuff, but it obviously left an impression on me & I would love to find more info about whatever happened to them.
Other pertinent info I (vaguely) recall:
- I think they were somehow associated with Crimethinc
- They may have been named "1001", which is not the most Google-able thing in the world
- I seem to recall talking to the guy who'd made the sequencer & he said he'd gone to Carnegie Mellon
So.. yeah. Vague, like I said, but it's been bugging me for a long time & I would be very happy to find something like a video of a performance.
