Mp3s on a Roku Player?

Any idea how I can connect mp3/iTunes to my Roku player?

I know I can use mp3tunes if I let them host the files, but shouldn't there be an easy way to play all my mp3s in one network on the Roku?

I struggled with getting it to work with my Roku player but had no luck. The Apple TV of course connects to iTunes easily for mp3s and video in the proper format (still a PITA if you have a lot of downloaded video). I recently ended up jailbreaking the AppleTV and installing XBMC on it, connected to my server and I can now play just about any kind of music and video files that XBMC can read and internet sources too, so I'm happy.
