There was a message board posting about this album cover, and I'm curious what the origin might be. I know that the Beach Boys' Brother Records used the cute little red man (evidence here) but is there an actual painting this comes from? Bonus points if I can get a print!

Best answer: It's "Appeal to the Great Spirit," by Cyrus Edward Dallin. The original was a bronze sculpture which sits in front of MFA in Boston. You can get a print of the painting from AllPosters.
