Forgotten book filter: A girl ghost (or imaginary friend) is luring other girls to their death.

This book would be at least 20 years old. I seem to remember the phrase "somebody come play with me" or just "come play with me". A ghost girl (or possibly an imaginary friend) lures other girls to their death - one girl gets trampled by her horse (not the MC).

Someone suggested "Wait til Helen Comes" but I think all those girls are drowned (tho I think I read this one too). Does it ring any bells?

This reminds me of Can I get there by Candlelight? but I haven't read it in about 15 years and I can't find a synopsis. I remember it had a girl and her horse, who would go visit a girl from another century. I don't remember if anyone died.

There was a similar plot to a "Sweet Valley Twins" book, which I think would be about 20 years old. I think the title was "The Carnival Ghost," where Elizabeth made friends with a girl at a carnival who said her parents were the owners - turns out that she was a ghost who wanted to have Elizabeth die the same way she did (falling out of a Ferris Wheel) so they could be friends forever, or something like that. I think there was a scene where a horse was spooked by the ghost and someone almost got hurt by it.
