LA Steelers Bar?
I'll be in LA on Sunday, staying in a hotel near LAX. Does anybody know of a Steelers bar nearby (or easy to get to)? I'd like to watch the game with my Pittsburgh brethren.

Response by poster: Are you familiar with any of these bars? I haven't been to LA in more than twenty years.

Never been there myself, but I've heard the Cock and Bull in Santa Monica is especially insane. Like a few hundred people there. If you're on the westside, it's probably your best bet.

No, I'm not familiar with them. I just put that list out there as a starting point for you in case you didn't know about it. I'll be watching the game at a bar in the 'burgh itself, probably Ryan's.

Best answer: OK, so of the West Side places on octothorpe's list, I've been to Gabe's, which, on 2965 S. Sepulveda, is pretty close to LAX. I'd probably stay on Sepulveda all the way instead of getting on the 405.
Gabe's was a favorite hang-out of a good friend of mine when he lived in LA. It's low-key, kind of divey, not at all chain-like, not much polish. Just a comfy neighborhood sports bar. With karaoke on the weekends.
I cannot speak to whether there will be a Steelers crowd there, but it's on the list....

Response by poster: "Sepulveda", eh? I know of a punter by that name. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Gabe's is definitely a roaring Steelers bar. I haven't been there in a while, but it always enhances the experience. Get there early if you want a seat.

Response by poster: Update: Gabe's was indeed a roaring Steelers bar. I had a great time and met up with Steelers fans from all over (and a bunch of transplanted yinzers as well).
Thanks.
