Birthday party ideas in Portland, OR.

My birthday is at the beginning of February and I am looking for some fun ideas for a party for 15-20 people.

In the past year, my friends have had the following parties: Happy hour at The Original then Ground Kontrol, wine tasting tour on a karaoke bus, Mad Men theme starting at Driftwood and ending at Uptown Billiards and the most recent was cocktails and bowling at Grand Central.

I want to keep it casual, fun, and inexpensive.

Have an "F" party, where everyone turns up dressed as something beginning with the letter "F".

I agree with MuffinMan, although we had good results with the letter P. Plus we got to make urine jokes. Rock Star, Toga, Willy Wonka, and Hipster themes also drew out the crowds.

IKEA photo scavenger hunt? Then Max to drinks downtown?

I had a roller skating party last year and it was so much fun. I felt like I was 8 years old when I sent out the email, but just about everyone I invited came out and we had a great time. Bonus: there were broken bones and everything, just like when we were little.

You could go to roller derby to get inspired, and then go roller skating yourselves at Oaks Park! Including roller derby makes it a bit more expensive, but could be an optional event before the party itself.

Alternately, is there still a mini golf place downtown?
