Whats that movie....

Trying to remember of the name of a British movie and its sequel (the second one set a few years after the first), came out around 5 years ago.
The director played one of the main characters and received a lot of attention and praise for the movies.
Based around a group of friends, council flats, drug deals and guns in London.
The first one ends with a shooting and the second one starts with the shooter getting out of jail and trying to keep his younger brother out of trouble.
Thats about all the bits I can remember...
