Thrift store treasure pot! Probably not, but can anyone tell me what the heck I just bought?
Just had to buy this thing cause it was cheap, heavy, metal and looked old. Fit all my qualifications. I just have no idea what it is. Have a look and give me some guesses, educated or otherwise. Photo 1

I guess it's probably brass, there is a silver colored metal right where the handle is. Also looks like it was repaired in the handle area, poorly. Can't tell if the silver metal is the repair or if the brass is worn down and this is underneath. Some soldering spots. Can't tell what the designs are either.
