Financial Crisis Summary

I'm looking for a list -- or help brainstorming to develop a list -- of the noteworthy scandals, failures, risks, litigations, etc. that have been uncovered in financial services (in any major economic zone) since the start of the financial crisis (broadly since early 2007).

I'm mainly looking for events that had or could have a large monetary impact on society or could have created unrecognized liabilities or major changes to the way financial services operate. I'm not really looking for pure human interest stories (eg, hedge fund manager with prostitute). Events I'm looking for don't necessarily have to have been caused by the financial crisis.

Examples of the types of things I'm looking for would be:

--Madoff, Stanford and other ponzi schemes

--Raj Rajaratnam and other insider trading issues

--Ongoing litigation from bad mortgage practices and poor documentation

--Accusations and settlement against Goldman Sachs re Abacaus CDO deal

--Failure and litigations surrounding monoline insurers

--AIG failure

--BofA's acquisition of Merrill

--Lehman

Any summary sources or additions to the list would be appreciated.
