Can anyone remember the name of a puzzle game I played via a yahoo group in the early 2000s? Every week, they'd send a logic-type puzzle that was part of a larger mystery. I never solved the last two, and I wish I had. I'd love to give it another shot if this game is still online somewhere.

I believe I played it sometime around the ARG craze of the early 2000s. The puzzles had something to do with math or numbers, and clues (or possibly the entire puzzle) were distributed in picture form. Alternatively, the puzzle may have had something to with cryptography.

I think the pictures were in sort of a woodblock style -- intricately drawn, but one color (sort of sepia tinted). The drawings may have been a bit steampunk-ish. Also, maybe the game had something to do with a snake?

I wish I could remember more!

If it's still online, or even if someone can remind me of more details (especially the name of the game) I would be very grateful if ya'll can point me in the right direction.

I think you may be thinking of the puzzle site Timehunt, which is now dead. Images from it here.

Best answer: Actually, thinking about the weekly installment bit, you may be thinking of Planetarium.

Response by poster: Yay! It was totally different from what I remembered, but that's it: Planetarium.
