Can anyone identify the car in this video?

I know nothing about classic cars but would love to find out as much as possible about the car in this video. What's the make and model? The year? Is it American-made, or an import? Any information would be helpful.

Best answer: i'm no expert, but i think that's probably a '67 dodge dart, if not a dart GT. check out this image from this previously sold dart. it's pretty darn close.

the car in the video seems to have a curved section above the speedo, the dart doesn't have that...

I initially thought it might be a corvair, but the corvair has a two section dash, this doesn't... still looking...

Response by poster: Bohemia Mountain, that is VERY close: the view of the Dart's dash looks like a solid match to me. Thanks so much.

Best answer: Did Dodge Darts normally have a stand-up hood ornament? But maybe it is a Mopar... There's a clear view in the video of the dash and the accelerator pedal when the guys get out at 1:46 and I will suggest that the car in the video is a 1966 Chrysler 300 convertible (see the bands on the doors). The 1966 Chrysler New Yorker and the Newport had similar dashboards that year. Those Chryslers would have probably been built in America.

Seconding the Chrysler 300 convertible. The Darts weren't that ornate inside (the banding and the curved dash.)

Oh, and if you want to learn more about older Mopars, etc., I always recommend Ate Up With Motor (although they don't yet cover the Chrysler 300 et al, and generally concentrate more on Plymouth and Dodge, Mopar-wise.)

I'm going to pop back in and heartily second channaher that the car is a '66 300 convertible. He's absolutely 100% spot-on. I based my guess on the steering wheel alone, since that's what I could see watching the video on my phone. also davejay's suggestion of Ate up With Motor is a great one!

I would guess a 65-66 Ford Mustang.

nth-ing 1966 300 Convertible. The steering wheel indicates this.

Response by poster: Comparing the pics again I think you're right, channaher, it looks like the Chrysler 300. Sweet.

Ate Up With Motor is an amazing resource, davejay --

Thanks all for answering this one for me.
