Taking my t2i on the ski slopes. Tips?
Just bought a t2i and plan on using it a lot for skiing. Couple concerns.
1. Recommendations on a bag? Lots of people seem to like the Lowepro slingshot. I want something that gives easy access. Might actually like a chest pack but not sure.
2. The cold. I know enough not to take the camera out indoors w/out letting the temperature regulate first, but will it just being in the cold for that long harm it? I know cold is actually better for most electronics, but not the lcd screen. Anything else in there I need to worry about.
3. I got the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lenses with it. Others I should consider (although they're all out of my price range for this season).
4. SD cards. I plan on shooting a decent amount of video so I think I'll want a class 6 card. I also don't want my fps in burst mode to decline w/ a slower card. I found a ridata 16gb class 6 card and it's $8 cheaper than a 16gb class 2 sandisk. Is there that much of a speed difference between sandisk and the off brands? How about quality? I've almost always strictly bought sandisk but it was never a big price difference because they were all class 2.
5. Anyone have much experience shooting in the snow or on the slopes? Backcountry?

@knowles - that is a pretty cool idea for a bag but I don't foresee it working so well while on the slopes.

Just in case anyone is still monitoring this or has a similar question. I went w/ the Lowepro Slingshot 202 aw and a squaretrade warranty. The bag is amazing. I've fallen about 3-4 times on diamonds w/ bumps, usually pretty hard, and the camera, lenses and bag are all still in mint condition. I cannot recommend this bag highly enough. Easy to swing in front of you if you're getting on the lift and plenty big to carry everything. I threw a couple of silica packets in to help keep the moisture out, I think that helped a lot. The all weather cover that pulls out the bottom and slides over it is great for when it's snowing.
