Best UK mobile phone insurance policy?
October 11, 2010 10:45 AM

I want to insure an HTC Desire mobile phone in the UK for all the usual stuff (theft, damage, loss, etc.) Does anyone have a recommendation for an insurer/policy?

(My home contents policy specifically excludes mobile phones, so that's not an option.)

Who's your current account with? Many banks offer a premium current account with mobile phone insurance (plus other additional benefits) for a monthly fee.

I use Lloyds TSB, they charge £10 a month for my premium account and for that I get travel insurance, phone insurance and AA breakdown. Mobile insurance on its own costs about 7 quid a month so it's a good deal.

They cover accidental damage, loss, theft etc with a £30 excess. I recently claimed as I dropped my iphone and cracked the screen, they had a new one back to me within a week.

I use Talkcover, I've never had to claim but they seem ok.
