Best Brooklyn, NY --> CT route tonight?
Mrs. Zen and I are seeing Laurie Anderson at the Harvey Theater in Brooklyn tonight (yay!).
Figuring we'll come down from CT via the Whitestone Bridge per Google Maps (good idea?).
Given that the northbound Whitestone is a mess of construction, what's our best escape plan back to CT on a Saturday night? FDR drive? RFK Bridge? Throggs Neck Bridge? Other?
(Bonus points: Recommend a good light dinner nosh in the neighborhood?)
Thanks, hive mind!

Best answer: I wouldn't recommend the Whitestone either way, because you have idiotic rubbernecking delays inbound. And, I don't know what time you're coming down, but you could end up driving right into Citi Field traffic as the game ends.
I would recommend the Triboro (sorry, the RFK bridge) both ways to be honest - as a BK denizen who has to drive to CT regularly, as long as we're far enough on either side of a Yankee game we go that way these days. (Yankees are in Boston so you're safe there.)

Two games, 4:10 (yankees winning 3-2 right now) and 9:10 starts.

Response by poster: Thanks, all. It was about 2 hours, 10 minutes door-to-door each way!
The show was great!

Go over the triboro bridge, continuing ont 278, and take exit 52 towards the 95 & Hutchinson River parkway. Keep following the signs for the Hutch, and merge onto it (678 North). You'll come on just after the whitestone bridge, so all the traffic should be locked up on the bridge behind you and there will be smooth sailing.
The Hutch becomes the Merritt, and then transfer to the 95 in Milford, unless you live in North Madison, in which case stay on the Merritt until you get to Wallingford then go through Durham, but you probably already know that.
Have fun!
