I was drunk in the Quarter, where was I?
I went on a 3-day, 49-bar bender in the French Quarter (and closely surrounding wards) Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This picture was taken at 11:49 PM on Thursday somewhere on a walk between ... uh ... Utopia on Bourbon and Le Roundup on one of the crossing streets (I highly suggest avoiding both bars, btw for incredibly different reasons). Anyways, damn the photographers' drunk shaky hands for not getting a clear shot - we are having a difficult time documenting this properly. Any locals or seasoned regulars know what bar this is?

Actually, he did see your whole question, my bad. He's not psychic or anything I guess.
And if you look at this picture of the Bourbon New Orleans, it looks like he might be right:

If you didn't sleep at any point in those three days you are officially my new hero.

No, unfortunately, cmonkey, we slept in the bar.
And, it doesn't look like it was the Bourbon New Orleans. We looked at the inside, and that wasn't it. I don't think it was that nice.

I love how pictures taken when drunk tend to actually convey the feeling of being drunk.

Dude. 49 bars in 3 days?
You so are my new hero. Carry on.

A friend who lives in the French Quarter says it looks like you were in front of The Cat's Meow on Bourbon Street.

But ... when I compare your picture to that of the bar ... it appears to me that the windows are entirely different.

Off topic, please scale those images down a bit. 1MB+ per photo? I've had 1000+ views for AskMes with attached images, and that might end up costing you a pretty penny.

Seconded.

I think it could be the restaurant across the street from the Bourbon New Orleans...
But it's been five years since I lived there, so...

Alright, so the pictures have been resized, but unfortunately, none of this is ringing any bells. I have seen more than my share of drunken soccer mom's at Cat's Meow and made a point to avoid it on this last venture out, so I know that's not it. After talking to the photographer, he mentioned that we could have ventured up Bienville towards Dauphine to avoid Hand Grenade and bead-toting tourists (it was the start of Spring Break, after all)... and Utopia, God help me, was one of the very few bars we went to on Bourbon proper. I guess we'll just have to go back and try this again.

...but it is hard to tell in that photo.
He also says: The Roundup is a rough trade gay bar -- not sure about Utopia, might be new.
And I didn't even tell him anything beyond your first sentence. Heh.
