Can Mbox 2 and Pro Tools LE 7.0 work on Windows 7 64-bit?

The digidesign site says that Mbox 2 and Pro Tools 7.0 will only work in a Windows XP machine. Has anyone tried to do these on Windows 7 (64 bit) machine? Is there a way to get this to work?

I have a laptop that runs XP but I'd like to use Mbox 2 and Pro Tools on my Windows 7 machine if possible.

Thanks!!

Best answer: It looks like you have to upgrade to ProTools 8.x.x link. I swear that the Avid/Digi/Protools support and download system sucks relentlessly, though, good luck. Trying to get my Mbox2 Pro working on Snow Leopard was like pulling my own teeth.

Response by poster: Agreed, knowles. The reason why I was able to get my hands on these was that the hardware and software screwed up a friend's brand spanking new Macbook Pro. So, I snagged it from him given that I have a machine that I can use it with.

Thank you for your response. I think I'd rather not spend the money for the upgrade. I have a perfectly fine machine that runs XP that will run it. Thanks for confirming, though.
