Looking for Wired Photos of Salt Flat Racers

Could anyone help me find photos from an article in Wired about racing on salt flats?

A number of years ago, Wired ran an article about people going out to
some salt flats, possibly Bonneville. The article had photos of people
and their cars, including one with a woman standing in profile near a
car, in a tank-top. They were black-and-white photos, high-contrast,
grainy, and possibly infra-red or just very polarized.

As I remember it, the article had nothing to do with Breedlove or the
rocket cars, or record setting. I feel like the issue was from at
least eight years ago. I'd like to know who the photographer is, where
I can see the series of photos, and if any of them can be purchased as
prints.

I have looked through Wired's online archives, but have not found the particular photos I'm looking for.

I remember that issue of Wired; I found it in the trunk of my car while parked at the Bonneville salt flats. That was June 2008 and I think the magazine had been in the trunk for less than a year. Sorry I can't be more specific; my copy of that issue is long gone.

Wait, sorry. I think I was thinking of this Wired cover which does depict the Bonneville salt flats but does not have the photos you're after.

Would seeing the cover jog your memory? Then you could at least have the article info to guide your search if the photos are not included.

I remember this too, but I think it has to be older than 2008, as I stopped reading Wired sometime around 2003

I think this was in issue 4.11 in a story titled "Salt of The Earth" which I can't for the life of me find anywhere online.

Would the photographer be David Perry?
I remember his black & white salt flats photos from about a decade ago, and I think I might even know the image you're referring to.
