Mercedes Audio

Does anyone know how to program the Mercedes audio (COMMAND) system so that the radio volume does not automatically adjust itself according to (the car's perceived sense of) background noise. I expect it is a series of codes that can be input through the radio.

Mercedes vehicles are highly computerized and as such, I would guess that it's something controlled in the vehicle's system software, not directly through the radio interface. If it is vehicle software, it will need some type of reprogramming. Have you tried inquiring at the dealer?

This is the sort of thing a factory service manual would have. They're not cheap.

Or, you could ask the dealer.
