My Google search is wacky

Why does my most recently copied clipboard contents just show up in the search field in Google before I paste it there? Seems odd and my other computers don't do this. What am I doing wrong here?

Are you using IE 8? This question on Google Help might solve your problem: How do I stop Google from pasting my most recent clipboard info into the search box when I open Google?

Delicious does this, too, at least when I'm using Firefox on OS 10.6—it automatically takes whatever's in the clipboard and pastes it into the Notes field. (Which I like a lot, actually.) So you could be encountering a Google script of some sort that only runs on the browser you're using.
