Where to print a set of custom cards
July 12, 2010 3:06 AM
Where can I get a set of ~100 different cards printed, in high-quality, for a reasonable price? Perhaps like a custom deck of playing cards or game cards...
I have a set of sayings, phrases and short paragraphs I would like to get printed into a quality, professional looking deck. This would be to sit on my desk, so I'm able to cut the deck to a random card when in need of inspiration.
I'd like a deck printed with all of the backs the same pattern, and all of the fronts of the cards different. It would also need to be delivered to Australia, and bonus points if it comes with an attractive case!
The only site I have found that seems to do this is moo.com who seem to limit the deck to 50 different card designs.

Whenever people print custom games from BoardGameGeek, they seem to usually use a site called Artscow. I have no personal experience with this site, but it sounds like they will do what you need.

Many moons ago, I bookmarked Plaincards. They have playing card blanks you can laser or inkjet print. I haven't used them, but it seems like what you need...

Many places that print custom playing cards will accept custom backs and fronts. 100 cars is two custom decks with 4 left over. I've never worked with this place, but they purport to be able to do what you want, in horrible web design.

Seconding Artscow, I've recently used them for a big order of game cards (same backs, differing fronts, exactly as you want) and they were *great*, I can't praise them enough.
It's always worth Googling 'Artscow discount codes' too because you can often get up to 30% off your order or free shipping (which saved me over $75 on my order as I'm in the UK) making it very affordable too.
