iCal/Google Calendar privacy

Is there a way to sync Google Calendar to my iCal, but make all events appear like iCal private events in Google Calendar? I want to share my Google Calendar so that others will see when I am on a business trip or in a meeting, but they shouldn't see where I am or what the topic of the meeting is.

You can check "Share only my free/busy information (Hide details)" when you share your Google Calendar.

Of course, that will affect all events, not only ones from iCal.

Thanks, that would work. But I'd rather not import the detailed information in Google Calendar at all. Can anyone think of a way to hide this information from Google?

So is iCal your source application? Or gCal? Because you ask "Is there a way to sync Google Calendar to my iCal?", but then "I'd rather not import the detailed information in Google Calendar at all".

Sorry, I mixed that up. iCal is the source.
