Shoutbox for PHPBB or other?

Looking for a forum chat mod that integrates with the database. Preferably one for PHPBB3.0.7-PL1, but willing to consider other forum software if the mod works well!
A client of mine wants a shoutbox/chatroom in his forum that his users can talk on. He wants it so that it can live inside a forum page and access it simply by being logged into the forums.
He currently is running PHPBB (Ver. 3.0.7-PL1).
I have tried to install StarTrekGuide's AJAX Chat/Shoutbox, but have encountered three different errors with three different attempts to install. Is there anything else out there?
If you don't know of any thing for PHPBB, do you have any experience with a different forum software?
