Help me remove my window screen.

I need help removing my window screen, it seems simple but I must be missing something.

Somehow this just isn't occurring to me. My window has two tabs like these on the top (my actual window pictured), and I pull them downward. I've tried pushing in and out but it won't budge for some reason. If I take a pocket knife and gently pry around the edge it frees up- so it's not stuck inside the window with paint or anything.

What obvious thing am I missing?

This screen type often has a fixed insert tab on the opposite side of the pull tabs. Pull the two tabs at the top downward, pivot the top edge toward you a few inches, then pull upward. The hidden insert tab on the opposite side will pull out of its slot.
