NPR reading

I'm looking for a reading of Michael Cunningham's short story, "White Angel." I heard it years and years ago on NPR, although I don't know which program it was.

I can't give an exact date but I know it was done before 1995. At some point, I think it was included on a tape of readings - likely released by NPR.

This is the best I could find with some quick Googling: someone asking about the same thing---

http://www.wnyc.org/shows/shorts/episodes/2004/08/01

That person is directed to www.selectedshorts.org website. "White Angel" brings up nothing but you might have better luck.

Also, that story *rocks.*

I remember hearing it, and it was on Selected Shorts.

This isn't the same thing, but you can get all of A Home at the End of the World on audio. The short story you're looking for is the beginning of the longer novel.

Getting closer: it's on "Selected Shorts, vol. 3" audio recording, which includes Michael Cunningham's "White Angel," Flannery O'Connor's "Everything That Rises Must Converge" and Edna O'Brien's "Violets." It exists but is out of stock at Powells, alibris has a used copy, as does Amazon.

Look for it at your local library.
