Grocery delivery in Columbus, OH?

Are there any grocery stores or shoppes in Columbus, Ohio that make deliveries? Alternatively, are there any other organizations there that do (free or compensated) grocery delivery services for the elderly?

The grocery delivery service my grandmother who lives in Columbus, OH used to use has apparently tanked, leaving my grandmother without a consistent source of groceries, as she can no longer legally drive. Family will be visiting frequently enough for her to get by, but I'd like her to have more control over when she gets her groceries. I looked into Peadpod, but evidently they are no longer active in Columbus.

Any recommendations or leads on these points (i.e. services originating within stores/shoppes and externally-located delivery services) would be much appreciated, thanks!

I've heard good things about netgrocer.com but it really depends on whether your grandmother is comfortable using the internet for grocery shopping and what kind of budget she has because it looks like shipping starts at $10. Best of luck!

All of the following have delivery services:

Safeway
Albertsons
New Seasons

But I don't know if they deliver in your area. I arbitrarily tried zip code 43204 (which is in that area somewhere) and all three bounced. But maybe your zip code is different and maybe they do support yours. It's worth a try, anyway.

This is a good question for the local Area Agency on Aging. I didn't find anything about grocery delivery on their web site, but someone at the agency will probably know.

You can also try contacting the Lifecare Alliance. If they don't offer the service they can probably point you in the right direction.

Huffman's Market, in Upper Arlington (north of Grandview, east of Hilliard, west of OSU) offers delivery services. I dunno if she's in the area, but they have a van with their name on it, and its selection actually seems to cater to the elderly. Premade meals and everything.

They also sell alcohol on Sunday and are one of only three places in the city licensed to do so. This may or may not help your grandmother depending on her "needs."
