Need employment agency to fulfill loan requirement

Need an employment agency in Minneapolis! To receive an unemployment deferment on my student loans, I need to meet this requirement: "You must be registered with a private or public employment agency if there is one within 50 miles of your permanent or temporary address. School placement offices and “temporary agencies” do not qualify as public or private employment agencies." All I can find are temp agencies. This mythical "employment agency" doesn't seem to exist in the form the direct loans people want. Help me find one!

I think they want you to be registered with your local unemployment agency.

Go to your local state employment office and register there, even if you are not eligible for unemployment

what kind of proof do they want? my loan agency paperwork said monster.com et al was acceptable, and it is/was. and i didn't have to provide any proof either, just check off that i was registered with them, which i was. so register with monster so you'll be covered if your loan agency wants proof down the road.

to make sure that monster is okay with your loan agency, you should call and ask. but "You must be registered with a private or public employment agency if there is one within 50 miles of your permanent or temporary address. School placement offices and “temporary agencies” do not qualify as public or private employment agencies." was pretty close to the same wording on my deferment paperwork. don't sweat it.

When I filed for an unemployment deferment (I also have direct loans), I was told that if an agency did permanent as well as temporary placement, then it was acceptable. (So that would cover something like Adecco, Randstad, Officeteam, etc.) You may want to double check, but as of a couple years ago that was the case.
