It's all part of my CRM fantasy

I started using Harvest about a month ago for invoicing and I love it. Now, I'm looking for a similar product for very basic CRM. So basic, in fact, that I'm not sure you'd even call it CRM. I want something that will allow me to keep a client's contact information and, in a fast, super-easy, as-few-clicks-as-possible way, let me schedule a reminder for a specific date and time or "two weeks from now" or "every Tuesday."

A real life example would be: A potential client calls, I ask for her contact information and fill it in, we talk for a while about her needs and end the conversation with her saying, "Ok, I'll have my material ready late next week, so I'll give you a call then." I click "Call: Friday." On Friday, I get an email in my inbox (or txt to my phone) with "Call today" and the client's contact info.

Highrise looked really good at first, but, as far as I can tell, there's no way to link a "task" to a client's contact info without several clicks and page loads.

I have well under 100 contacts currently, and this is more important for new contacts so I'm really starting with 0. Installed or on-line systems are ok.

You might look at Zoho's CRM tool, although it may be way overkill for your needs as it's sort of a Salesforce.com clone. Backpack by 37 signals may work for you. It's more of a blank slate approach, so you won't have the dedicated fields for name / address , etc, but you could easily record all the info you want on a single page per client, and create to-dos attached to the client with just a click or two.

Wow. Highrise does exactly what I wanted. How is it that I looked at it a half dozen times and couldn't find that functionality?

Well, one thing is sure: I have wasted an Ask Metafilter question. Dang.
