My friend can't send .mac emails to my gmail address.

My friend cannot send emails from his .mac address to my .gmail address. We can send emails back and forth routing to/from different addresses, so it's not our accounts individually. Anybody else have this problem?

If you'd like, privately email me the mac address and I'll be happy send a test message from my gmail account.

What SMTP server is the .mac person using? Last I checked, .mac doesn't provide SMTP so they're probably using their ISP's instead. Gmail might have an overzealous spam checker that kills mails sent this way.

If you use the .mac webmail system rather than a regular POP/SMTP email client, does the email get through?

Note: gmail is not accepting incoming mail right now, presumably due to a recently-released vulnerability. More details here.

aberrant: Perhaps they fixed it, I'm receiving incoming Gmail just fine.

Just started flowing for me, too, at 13:49PT. Hopefully they did fix it, though it could be that the outage was unrelated to the published vulnerability.

Ugh, on second glance, nope:

gmail.com. 48m36s IN MX 10 gsmtp171.google.com.
gmail.com. 48m36s IN MX 10 gsmtp185.google.com.
gmail.com. 48m36s IN MX 20 gsmtp57.google.com.

All three mail exchangers instantly drop connects to port 25.

Response by poster: Thanks, aberrant. That looks like the culprit.
