I have noticed that several softdrinks have tasted salty to me lately?? Anyone experienced anything like this? Maybe my tasted buds are going through a change, but I haven't noticed any difference in food tastes...

Did you have a severe cold or sinus condition recently? Last month there was a similar topic about someone experiencing sensations of sweetness. Go back and look at the links there.

If you're drinking diet sodas and the cans have aspertine in them, it can go bad if overheated. The sodas taste flat and salty.

I've noticed that the flavor of my preferred diet soda gets funky if the weather is in either extremes of heat or cold. Though I can't say it actually tastes salty, it does taste weird. (and sometimes flat. As a result, I always press the plastic bottles before I buy a six pack ... if it gives, I put it back on the shelf.)

Have you recently started drinking soda after eating things that are extremely sweet? Overstimulated neurons need time to recover, it's the same thing that causes afterimages from looking at bright lights.

have you started any new medications?

Certain mouth infections can cause this, but if you had one serious enough for that, I bet you'd be in agony and wouldn't have posted here for help! :-)

this may sound odd, but when i switched to mentadent toothpaste for a while, i had a similar experience (oddly, cigarettes began to taste like honey). switched to another toothpaste, and all went back to normal.

A few times, when I've been violently sick (vomitting... alcohol...), tap water has tasted sickeningly sweet immediately afterwards. Strange, but it was definately in-my-head.

Tap water has been salty for me, but come to think of it I have been using a baking soda toothpaste.
