What web-app should I build on the domain "vimbro.com"?

What does vimbro sound like to you?

* Project management?
* Social networking?
* The first 3rd party implementation of the Google Wave Standard?
* Dating site for robots?
* A custom linux build?

Help me out! If someone suggests a cool idea, especially one that is unique, and it is within my abilities, I will earnestly work on making it a reality!

It doesn't sound like anything, frankly. Trying to get a web app concept out of a silly name is not a good sign or a good practice...

Honestly, my opinion is that the name is literally one of the last things you should worry about. Better to develop your app first, maybe test it on youpersonalsite.com/app as something generic like "My Cool Web App" and if you've got something good going, then maybe worry about the name...

For me, it suggests some sort of companion site for Vimeo. Maybe you could build a mashup engine in the spirit of YooouuuTuuube (previously) or YouTube Doubler (previously)?

1) The usual order is to get a great idea for an app, build it, then purchase a domain name that describes your product. May I humbly suggest that reversing the order is not, in fact, a shortcut to success?

2) That domain name sounds annoyingly generic and buzzwordy, so don't count on it being memorable. If people can't remember your site name, you've lost half the battle.

3) I'm serious about number 1. Build a great app, come up with a name that actually tells me what it does, then purchase a domain name to match.

You should build a grassroots social network extensible-framework SEO calendarized viral B2C flashmob search engine. That's what immediately leaps to my mind when I hear "vimbro".

Also, what chrisamiller and Theloupgarou said.

You should concoct a treatment for erectile disfunction, call it Vimbro, and tout it on vimbro.com.

The name suggests a Virb/Vimeo mashup but for some reason it makes me think of an instant messaging service for fraternities or pill of some sort.

It just doesn't slide off the tongue very well and there's not much you can do to split the word up into other ones except Vimb Ro. Which is kind of a cool pen name actually.

Part of me wonders if you saw the domain was available and decided to buy it because it sounds like a "hot web 2.0 name!!!!"

Like several others have said, the domain/product/service name is the last part of the equation. If you don't actually have an app that you could label under this, your best bet is to auction it off and hope someone else will buy it from you, although I wouldn't expect much at all for it since it is completely undeveloped and not very catchy.
