My library is thinking about doing a social media post next week to let our patrons know that we miss them, appreciate them, are thinking about them while we're all staying at home. Words Inspire
I'm looking for suggestions for speakers for a progressive event. Who can you think of who might be well known enough to be a draw in a rural, 98% white area and who would speak well and passionately about progressive issues that are likely to be most relevant to lower income, rural voters. Issues might include healthcare, preservation of public lands, rights of indigenous people, womens rights, and economic justice. Budget would be under $5K, so really looking for someone who has some name recognition but is not extremely famous.

I'm in my early thirties and I don't think I've ever been creative. I just don't think I have much imagination for those kinds of things. I have largely NOPE’d out of election coverage since the trend lines at 538 started moving the wrong way. Which stories, novels, or non-fiction always jump-start your writing?
Seeking examples or lists of writing that have inspired writers to write. Not "I read Orlando and wanted to be a writer," but novels, stories, or non-fiction that, when read, inspire one immediately to write, either on a one-time or a repeated basis. I write regularly; I'd like to have a shelf by my desk that I dip into more or less randomly before writing to prime the pump. While I love many books or stories, I rarely remember the ones that make me want to write.

How to set up creative friction
I've noticed in the past few years that when I am bored or frustrated I tend to get inspired. Some of my best, most interesting sketches are from lectures and work meetings. While working in the office I come up with ideas for paintings, songs, quilts and other projects.
