Good hotels in Baton Rouge?

Going near Baton Rouge, LA for work. I need suggestions of good hotels to stay in the $80-$100 a night range. I also need suggestions of things to do in the evenings. Thanks!

I'll be working about 30-45 minute drive South of the city, if that helps with the suggestions for areas. I'd prefer something not too close to a highway. I'd prefer to be able to walk to as many places as possible, but this is not required. Definitely non-smoking. Oh and if you can tell me anything about the breakfast, that would be a plus.

As for suggestions of things to do, looking for restaurants (with vegetarian options if possible) and any attractions that can be experienced in the evenings. Thanks!

You might consider The Cook Hotel at LSU. Their website lists a price of $135 a night, but you should be able to get a better rate if you call reservations directly (and during the day). They offer a discounted rate for AAA and for folks travelling on state business, and if you speak to a manager, they may give you a better rate for an extended stay.

It's located on LSU's campus, away from the highway. They serve a hot breakfast each morning and there's a jogging trail around campus. Plus, you're within walking distance to clubs and restaurants.

Feel free to email me about specific nighttime activities. I'm an old man, but perhaps I could make some better suggestions with a little more information.
