Is there an easy way (meaning minimal downloading of stuffs) to convert a voicemail into a ringtone? PC and non-jailbroken iphone (and I wish to keep it that way). Thanks.

Best answer: Can you put a regular 1/8 headphone in an Iphone? You could just get an 1/8 cable from radio shack and then plug the iphone into your computer mic jack.

Record it as an MP3 with Audacity (which is free).

Then maybe do this:

I don't have an iphone, so I don't know about that part.

You could try Mobile17 [ex-Smash the Tones] (40 seconds limit).

Audiko has worked for me in the past.

Response by poster: The main problem is getting the voicemail onto my computer. The actual making it into a ringtone bit is the easier part of the problem. Thanks, I will be checking out Audacity.

i'd record the voicemail into a devise that can record it as an mp3.... the import that into garage band, create your ringtone from that... & then send it to itunes as a ringtone...

i have a devise that is a small digital recorder i use for recording live music... if you (or someone you knew) had something like that, it would be a perfectly easier to do.
