Make a little birdhouse in your soul

I'm looking for a nightlight that could fit the description of the nightlight in the song Birdhouse in your Soul by They Might Be Giants. Ideas?
Blue canary, "in the outlet by the light switch" (ie: that plugs directly into the wall). All I can find are stained glass ones, but I want something that is styled for a child's room.

It looks like http://bluecanarynightlight.com/ will be taking orders next week.

Google also found me this. Little expensive, though.

There's a picture opposite me...by which I mean you could always go for a lighthouse nightlight to stay with the theme of the song. As somebody lucky enough to have a real lighthouse flash in my window at night I can tell you it is quite soothing.

You can also have it custom made over at etsy. This one I assume doesn't quite fit the bill for you. Cute idea!

That blue canary nightlight site is pretty slick!
If you're looking for something a little simpler, or want to make your own, we used to have a cool night light made, in part, from blue Plexiglas. The one we had was like an alien and had a shape behind the plexi so it made a shadow, but you could cut the blue plexi to shape and then dow whatever you wanted with it. It attached pretty easily to a regular nightlight base.

The bluecanary one is cute, but not accurate. You need the kind that plugs right into the wall and stays "in the outlet" like the Etsy one... but a canary.
(Yeah, I have thought about this one before.)

See, this is why I just got a rock to wind a string around. Much easier to find.

Jeez, you really can find anything on the Internet. I wonder why TMBG doesn't sell these themselves!

Makes me wonder where one can buy a big prosthetic forehead for $7.
