Printing custom ribbon?

What technique and supplies are used to print on cotton tape/ribbon?

I'm looking to make some custom ribbon and can't figure out how to print on the twill tape. I've seen tutorials where they show how to do iron-on in small batches for labels, but I am looking for something more like continous printing. Eventually, i'd like to print several hundred yards so something like hand stamping or silkscreening won't work. How is something like this done?

This crafter prints directly on the twill tape using her printer..
