Is there a gym at JFK Airport?

Asking for a friend: She is flying to Poland from Charlotte and will be having a nine hour layover at JFK on Monday. Is there a gym at the airport or very close by that she can use (i.e. an airport hotel with a shuttle)? She would be willing to pay a fee to use it.

How about a Google search?

Response by poster: That didn't answer the question but thanks. She doesn't have a membership at any of the actual gyms so that's not helpful. I see someone else asked the same question at another forum and didn't get an answer except for a list of hotels that might or might not have gyms. I was hoping with all the New Yorkers around here maybe they'd know something but if not that's cool I'm sure she'll find something else to do. I just don't know anything about the area and have never been to that airport.

i don't know if it's worth the cost, but premium airline clubs (like american airline's admiral's club) may very well have small gyms at large airports like jfk. she'd have to buy a membership to the airline club and it may not be worth it.

also, any gym is likely to offer a day pass. it might cost $25 but if you've got 9 hours to kill, it might be worth it.

OR, if she's got 9 hours to kill, she can easily take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station and take the train into midtown Manhattan, walk around for four hours (a not unpleasant workout itself) and get back to the airport in time for her flight.

I very much doubt there is any kind of gym at JFK. I just did a quick check of Terminal 5, which is JetBlue's super-new, well-regarded terminal (and hence, I figure, the most likely place to have an amenity like this), but there's nothing of the sort there.

Second thinkingwoman - nine hours is definitely enough time to swing into Manhattan and back, even all the way from JFK.

Response by poster: Yeah, apparently no gyms at JFK that anyone can find (there should be!), but the Holiday Inn at JFK will let her use theirs. Thanks everyone.
