Where can I buy large amounts of vintage/dead stock fabric in Los Angeles?
I need to buy 750 yards of vintage/deadstock fabric. I need the fabric in assorted patterns. The fabric must be vintage, not simply discontinued. Help?
This is not a direct answer, and I apologize for that.
There is a cool vintage clothing/furnishing store in Studio City that sells to the studios and has excellent (and sometimes pricey) pieces organized by decade. They really know their stuff, from what I can tell.
I'm almost positive that they personally don't carry fabric, but they may be knowledgeable enough to point you in the right direction.
Try Beverly Hills Silks and Woolens at about Beverly and La Cienega. Lots of industry types shop there. It's a Twilight Zone Store with old pro's from the 30's running it. There are some untouched vintage bolts there. posted by effluvia at 4:25 PM on July 9

Hope that is at least semi-helpful.
