How can I download only Open Office Writer instead of the whole suite?

Can I download only OpenOffice Writer?

I don't want the whole suite of OpenOffice..can i download only one program or pick and choose...like Writer and Calc (word and excel)

Best answer: you gotta download the whole package, but you can install only the bits you want.

If you are just looking for a free, lightweight and easy to use word processor, AbiWord is a great alternative to OOo. Word compatible as well. Possible downside: I don't think you're able to export to PDF anymore.

I had real troubles with AbiWord, on two different Windoze machines; from what I experienced it is not yet ready for prime time. Just saying.

gnutron's got the answer. Besides (except for hard drive space) it can't hurt to have the rest of the suit.
