Where can I buy large quantities of peanut oil in New York City?

I want to make deep fried goodies at home and I would like to use peanut oil. Where in NYC can I buy a gallon+ of peanut oil for a reasonable price. All my local groceries only sell small amounts.

Try an Asian market, Chinese preferably. They tend to sell peanut oil in gallon size containers. The price will be more reasonable than those $6/quart bottle in your local grocery store, but still not cheap.

I've only ever been to NY as a tourist, so I don't know if there is such an animal as the supermarkets we take for granted in the suburbs, but most chain stores carry LouAnn's Peanut oil by the gallon. As well, if you do a google search, you'll see a few different vendors who will ship it to you.

However, for what you'd pay for a gallon from those retailers, this Columbus Foods subsidiary sells it in 35 pound cubetainers, (Which is about 5 gallons.)

(I feel like a shill for CF, it's the second recommendation for them I've made today. I am not affiliated in any way with CF except as a customer.)

Were it me, I would go with a known distributor, given the vast peanut oil recall.

Costco stocks mass quantities of oils, and they might have peanut oil. There are Costcos in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, several places in northeast New Jersey, and on Long Island.

Best answer: The Indian grocery stores on Lexington in the 30s generally have gallons of peanut oil.

I can confirm that Costco (at least in Austin) sells it in 5 gallon containers, for about $51.
