I want to see the movie that scared me as a kid!

Help Me Name This Horror Film!

I watched a lot of cable as a kid. Please help me figure out what movie I saw! When I should have been in bed! So I can have nightmares about it again!

The kid swears there's a monster in the bedroom at night, parents don't believe it. (I think)
The kid keeps seeing things move in the bedroom at night.
After a lot of buildup, we see a small, secret door open up in the bedroom.
The door might be under a flight of stairs?
Some kinda small monster comes out, climbs up on the sleeping kid, covers the kid's mouth.
Monster tries to take the kid's soul through his/her nose?

Part of me thinks this was Hitchcock for some reason, but that can't be right. His monsters were people, no? And horror wasn't really his thing. So I've got to be wrong on that one.

This movie scared the shit out of a ~10-year-old me. Please help me track it down?

Best answer: Second cowbellemoo. The movie has three parts, and that's the third part. The little girl is played by Drew Barrymore.

Thirding the first two...though I think the James Woods segment of that movie is the best

Dunno about you, but the ledge part was the one that freaked me out. What an awful thing to make someone do! I don't have a fear of heights or anything, it just strikes/struck me as an absurdly mean thing to do. : /

Response by poster: Wow, watching that YouTube now...It was a lot scarier 20+ years ago. :)

I'm going to get the movie now and watch the whole thing. Maybe it'll fill some of my vacation next week.

Thanks again!
