What is Windows Test Technology and where can I learn about it? I've heard of Windows Test Technology (technologies?), but Google results really don't offer any helpful information about what it is or how a person would use it. Any tips are appreciated!

At Microsoft.

Not very helpful, I know, but it's an internal application used for testing. AFAIK, you can't get it in the outside world.

But, this is how WTT is used (and I'm using it right now!): You can write manual test cases, set them up in a collection, and then testers can look up the cases in the collection, and mark the results of the test. However, it's biggest strength is in automated setup and testing. You can push an OS, tools, or app install to test machines, and/or you can push automated tests to test machines.

It gets more complex than that by far, but basically it's an internal MS tool used by MS to set up machines and run both manual and automation tests. Hope this helps!

At least some parts of it are available in the Windows Logo Kit, which OEMs use to test drivers and the like. It's the sort of thing that's provided at the Microsoft Partner level, along with requisite hand-holding. I don't know that it's something you need to be concerned about if you don't know what it is.

There are a large number of commercial and even open-source test suites, depending on what you need to test.
