CostumeFilter#437: Need costume ideas for a couple with an infant!

We have a 5mo baby girl that we are taking to two parties, and want something original that we can dress up our new family as. Additional bonus question: SO wants to dress our daughter as the Pink Panther, and us as goons/theives, but I swear there were never any goons in the cartoons, just the panther and the inspector. Prove me wrong!

Others ideas on the table:
The Flintstones (Wilma, Fred, Pebbles)
Little Bo Peep and two sheep

Some great baby ideas here, but we want to dress as a group.

We're pretty crafty, so bring on any wild ideas.

You two wear pajamas and dress her as your teddy bear or
you go as cats and dress her as a mouse.

Cop uniform + prison uniform (or alternately an open Hawaiian shirt) + baby in a car seat = Raising Arizona

You: Empire State Building.
Baby: King Kong.
Wife: Ann Darrow

Idea stolen from Defective Yeti.

Joseph, Mary and Jesus

Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston and baby

Babies in costume work as pretty much any animal, so you could do The Wizard of Oz with Dorothy, Toto (baby as dog) and Scarecrow/Lion/Tinman or Curious George (baby as monkey) and Man in the Yellow Hat, etc.

Britney, Kevin, or some other hanger on, with baby in designer duds with Coca Cola in her bottle. Is this so 2006? Maybe.

Well, you could play on the statement that every baby looks like Winston Churchill by going as the Yalta conference - Stalin, FDR, and Churchill. Huh. Churchill really does look like a baby.

Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, with the baby as Elmer Fudd. (Extra credit if you carry "Rabbit Season"/"Duck Season" signs.)

I like this one from Martha: Spiderweb and Spider. And Dad could go as a fly.

Beekeepers is easy: disposible painters' coveralls with craft store bees wired all over. Mosquito net headpiece sprayed white to match. The kid: a giant bee or a hive, your choice.

Dress her as Super Nanny (glasses, grey suit, little wig) and the two of you go as difficult adolescents.

She's the President. You two dress as Secret Service agents with the dark suits and curly wire earpieces.

Actually, I'll bet that sort of echoes real life a little bit for you right now, eh?

You could go as the three headed knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, or you could go as Arthur, the witch and Sir Not-Appearing-in-this-film.

Yoda costume for infant,
Luke & Leia for you guys!
It's even to scale!

(Or - Han Solo & Leia if you don't want the incestuous kissing.)

(If it was me? Everybody goes as wookies).

I love Sharkfu's idea:
Baby Lobster - if you were keen on being a little more eccentric (more eccentric than baby lobster & two chefs?), the Swedish Chef, a baby lobster, and either a Chicken or a Moose.

Awesome!

OMG yes, Raising Arizona would be genius. Thirding.

Also, if you're short & pudgy, and the wife's tall and thin, the two of you could be Boris and Natasha and the baby could be Rocket J Squirrel.

Or you could dress your baby up as an Ooompa-Loompa, and you and your wife dress up as whatever characters suit you best from Willy Wonka.

Last year my sister and her hubby dressed as pirates, and the baby was dressed as a parrot.

Three Bears (Seems strangely too obvious...)

Three Little Pigs

Etc...

Also, what about Dorothy, Toto and (choose one) Tin Man/Cowardly Lion/Scarecrow?

Response by poster: Tin Man/Cowardly Lion/Scarecrow?

This is what our friends with a newborn are dressing as, and what inspired the question because we wanted to beat them!

After some fantastic ideas, we are going with two farmers and a little sprout. SO is making her a green sack-like thing, with a hood and petals sewn around her face.

Thanks for the great idea's all! The lobster idea got vetoed.

Elysum and padraigin get nods for inspiration!
